Viburnum rhytidophyllum
A large, fast-growing evergreen shrub. Viburnum rhytidophyllum produces distinctive long dark-green leaves with an unusual corrugated, textured surface. In May, fragrant bunches of small, creamy-white flowers are produced on furry brown stems and followed in the Autumn by small red fruit maturing to black. This is a lovely foliage shrub ideal for a mixed shrub bed or a low maintenance garden. It does particularly well on chalky soils and makes a great choice for a backdrop in a larger border.
