Common Juniper Repanda
Juniperus communis Repanda is an excellent named variety of our native juniper. Repanda, has all the good qualities of our common juniper, working well in difficult soils and sites. However this dwarf, carpet-forming conifer, has densely- packed grey-green foliage, with semi-prostrate stems. During Winter, the foliage takes on a bronzy colour adding further interest to the Winter garden. Ideal for a low maintenance planting scheme, providing excellent ground cover.
Site: Tolerates nland exposed sites and coastal exposure
Soil: Most soils, avoid wet soils. Tolerant of extreme pH’s, shallow soils over chalk
Position: Full sun, will tolerates part shade
Season of Interest: All year foliage, bronze Winter foliage colour
Hardiness: Fully hardy
Height: approx 1ft (30cm) Spread: 4 to 6ft (1.5 – 2m)
