Clematis Early Sensation
A compact clematis, Clematis Early Sensation is a small evergreen climber which bears masses of flowers early in the year. Finely-navided leaves emerge bronze, turning deep green as they age. In April and May scented, white, bell-shaped flowers, 7.5cm across and with greenish-yellow centres smother the stems. The flowers give way to attractive fluffy seed-heads. Grow in a sheltered, south or south-west-facing position; this is not a clematis for colder areas. With suitable support, this compact little clematis can also be grown in a pot. Clematis Early Sensation is in Pruning Group 1, and needs only occasional pruning.
