Cryptomeria japonica Sekkan Sugi

One of the most beautiful of all the Japanese Cedars, Cryptomeria japonica Sekkan Sugi grows into a mid sized conical tree. Its best attribute is its beautiful striking golden-white colour that it provides mainly in Winter, which gives it a highly decorative appearance. As with a lot of Cryptomeria species the branches can be used for floristry as they will keep their bright colour long after being snipped off the tree. This tree is suitable for most gardens, can be pruned to keep the size down or left to grow into a full size tree.

Site: Semi sheltered, avoid exposed sites
Soil: Well drained, but moist rich soil is ideal
