Yellow Flag Iris

Commonly known as the yellow flag Iris, Iris pseudacorus is often seen in boggy areas or growing in shallow water at the edge of a pond. Planted out in boggy ground, this plant colonises rapidly to form large clumps with long, erect strap shaped leaves and bright yellow flowers in summer. As with all Iris, the tubers are harmful if eaten. This plant is a great attractor for butterflies and bees.

Position: Full sun to part shade
Planting depth: Grow in the damp margin to 20cm (8’’) below water level.
Growth rate: Fast

Hardiness: Hardy
Size: Height: 100cm (26″). Spread: 60cm (24″) Sometimes taller in open ground

Pot must be removed and plant should be planted directly into soil or margins above the water line. Cannot be planted directly into soil below the water line.
