Chinese Wisteria

Chinese Wisteria bears drooping racemes of fragrant lilac or mauve flowers around 1 ft in length. A vigorous woody, deciduous vine with large pinnate leaves, Wisteria needs sturdy support in a sheltered south or west facing position. Prune regularly to keep this fast-growing climber under control and encourage flowering.

Position: Full sun to partial shade and any aspect
Soils: Moist, well-drained
Hardiness: Mostly hardy in Ireland
Size: 30 ft high – 20 ft spread
